The itinerant exhibition NeoNlitic
The NeoNlitic exhibition, organized by the Wood Be Nice workshop and curated by Mihaela Ion, will be opened on Sunday, June 2, starting at 19:00, at the headquarters of the institution, and the works can be visited later by the Buzau public between June 2 – July 2, from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10:00 – 18:00.
The 15 national and international artists bring together over 30 works of mixed media, light installations, wooden sculptures, raşin, metal, paintings, ceramic and textile objects, animation and video mapping, all the works inspired by the aesthetic motifs of the Romanian prehistoric cultures: Hamangia and Cucuteni. The NeoNlitic project, initiated in 2018, consisted of two field documentation and working meetings and 4 workshops for active networking, between creators, artists, archaeologists, makers and people involved in the creative and cultural industries.
At NeoNlitic I expose: Daniel Loagar and Andrei Cornea (foundations of Wood Be Nice and the initiators of the project) and the invited artists: Sasha Meret (US), Andreea Toma, Irina Maria, Raluca Bajenaru, Marius Gheorghe, Marian Codrea, Beaver, Roxana Tomescu, Lucian Simion, Alexandru Claudiu Maxim, Gabriel Marin, Misha Diaconu, Evghe.
NeoNlitic has become a statement event. Each museum, art gallery, culture consumption space that hosts the NeoNlitic exhibition, transposes the exhibited works into new forms of pane, thus offering them new identities. Creations are able to find their right place in every space and present to the public the contemporary interpretations of the Neolithic symbols. This time, the Buzău County Museum will be the NeoNlitic host, and thus the public will have access both to the artifacts from the permanent exhibition of archaeology of the museum, as and to the contemporary interpretations of archaic cultural products, made by the national and international artists of NeoNlitic.
The exhibition is curated by Mihaela Ion, cultural manager & curator with over 12 years of experience in the field of international creative and cultural industries and with a PhD in art history, founder of Atelierul Magazine and White Night of Product Creators and Designers, two of the most important Romanian projects aimed at promoting the creative and cultural communities in Romania.
