Communiqué

 

Muzeul Județean Buzău, instituție de cultură și cercetare ce funcționează sub autoritatea Consiliului Județean Buzău, cu sediul în mun. Buzău, Aleea Castanilor, nr. 1, jud. Buzău, reprezentat legal de către dr. Daniel Costache, în calitate de Manager, organizează, cu sprijinul Consiliului Județean Buzău, în colaborare cu Uniunea Internațională de Studii Preistorice și Protoistorice (UISPP)  și  Institutul de Arheologie Vasile Pârvan București, Colocviul Internațional cu tema:

“Bronze and Iron Ages in Eurasia: Rituals and Grave Goods as Possible Markers of the Social Identity of the Dead”.

The colloquial program, held between October 17-20, 2019, includes 23 communications, with 31 authors, from six countries: Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Serbia and Bulgaria.

Buzau thus becomes the city in Romania where the most numerous international colloquia (2004, 2009, 2012, 2014) were held under the aegis of the XXX Commission of the International Union of Prehistoric and Protohistorical Sciences (UISPP), the most prestigious professional organization of archaeologists from all over the world, thus signing up in the elite of the scientific centers that hosted such manifestations.

The work of the colloquial aims to answer a series of questions related to how the funeral rites and rituals carried out by ancient communities as well as the belongings set in the graves reflect the "identity of the dead" in the afterlife and the social status of those people.

Deschiderea oficială  a colocviului  va avea loc în data de 17 octombrie 2019, ora 16.00, la Muzeul Județean Buzău.
