Expoziția cu lucrări de artă japoneze Surimono „Katsushika Hokusai and his circle. Masterpieces of Japanese Surimono – Hidden Beauty”

Buzau County Museum, instituție de cultură și cercetare ce funcționează sub autoritatea Consiliului Județean Buzău, anunță vernisarea expoziției internaționale „Katsushika Hokusai and his circle. Masterpieces of Japanese Surimono – Hidden Beauty”, curatoriată de Vasilii Chesauri și Alexandru Anghel.

Organizată în parteneriat cu Art Expo SIA, din Letonia, expoziția rămâne deschisă publicului în perioada 3 martie – 5 iunie 2022.

Proiectul expozițional cuprinde 51 de lucrări de grafică, capodopere ale artei japoneze Surimono, realizate de mari maeștri, precum: Katsushika Hokusai, Totoya Hokkei, Kubo Shunman, Yashima Gakutei, Yanagawa Shigenobu, Ryûryûkyo Shinsai, Katsushika Hokuun, Matora Ōishi, Kitagawa Utamaro, Utagawa Toyohiro și Utagawa Kuninao. De asemenea, sunt prezente două lucrări ale impresioniștilor, deținute de Arsène Alexandre.

The public has the opportunity to meet original surmonoes, to see their seemingly hidden beauty, as well as the procedures that were used to create them.

Many techniques of embossing and associated visual illusions, applied in surimono materials, involve a concentrated examination of the work as a whole, but also of all its tiny shades, each of which contains symbols and constantly completing the visual meaning, continuously enriching it. Surimono is Japan’s unique contribution to the world’s culture, and the exhibition demonstrates the versatility and unique beauty of the masterpieces that have survived to this day.
