Thursday, November 30, 2023, starting at 10:00, at the Buzau County Museum, will take place the opening of the temporary exhibition “People of the Union”. The exhibition is dedicated both to military personalities who through their heroic deeds managed to remain forever in the pages of history, as and to the most important historical events that took place on the territory of our country having a common one ideal, namely the union.

 The epic thread of the exhibition begins with the Union of the Romanian Principalities by the ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza, marks the moment 1877-1878, the obtaining of independence and ends with the moment December 1, 1918.

The exhibition “People of the Union” is dedicated to both political and military leaders who through their actions have united the Romanian people in one state, but also to the many who have sacrificed their lives in instalments for this ideal. Thus, along with military patents, images of Romanian soldiers on the front of the union, flags and military effects, in the exhibition hall are found period uniforms, uniforms of the Romanian gendarmes at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, but also folk costumes. The exhibition is complemented by information about Marshal Constantin Prezan, who besides participating in the First World War coordinated the military operations for the defense of the Great Union (the military actions carried out by the Romanian Army between 27 October/9 November 1918 and 20 March 1920: The Romanian-Hungarian War/15 April-August 6, 1919; the organization of the defense on the eastern and north-east border threatened by the Soviet troops; the disarmament of the Austro-ungarian troops from Bucovina.
