 „Collected Heirlooms”

 

Starting this year, the Buzău County Museum will initiate a program dedicated to collections and art collectors. With the intention of encouraging the phenomenon of establishing private collections, to create links between artists and collectors, we proceeded to plan a series of art exhibitions that would bring to light, on the grounds of the museum, thematic collections.

The program, held generically under the name "Collected legacies", will debut with the opening of the private collection of the Patrick Popescu family. The exhibition consists of works by some Romanian artists from the the twentieth. Among the names of the authors that will be exhibited, we mention: Corneliu Drăgan Târgoviște, Alexandru Poitevin-Scheletti, Rudolf Schweitzer Cumpăna, Mihai Coțovanu, Mișu Teișanu, Micaela Eleutheriade, David Alexandru, Nicolae Blei, Alexis Macedonski, Eugenia Filotti Atanasiu, Vladislav Nagornov, Maria Jarda, Francois Gall, Hrandt Avachian, Ion Carchelan, Ion Popescu Negreni and Petre Bulgaraș.

The exhibition will be opened, in the presence of the collector, on Thursday, April 4, 2024, starting at 11:00, at the headquarters of the Museum of Archaeology, History and Art (Str. Aleea Castanilor, no. 1, Buzau municipality) and will be available to the public until May 25, 2024.
