“Let’s shake hands at the County Museum”
Press release
This year marks 165 years since the Union of the Romanian Principalities under the reign of Alexandru Ioan Cuza. The cultural institutions subordinated to the Buzau County Council will also implement this year the cultural-educational program “Let’s shake hands with our hand at the County Museum”, a program that has reached its 7th edition.
Held in the form of an ensemble of cultural-artistic events, the event aims to mark one of the most important events in the history of modern Romania, the Union of the Romanian Principalities. 165 years ago, the Buzau people took part in what was considered to be the first step towards the achievement of Greater Romania. Their enthusiasm, marked by the press of the moment, "made great an impression of His Majesty the Prince," "in the cheers of the crowd, Cuza (entering) the Episcopal Cathedral." “In the evening, the atmosphere in the city was envious, all culminating in the reign of the ruler’s stay in the city overnight.”
This is the context in which the Buzău County Council together with the Buzau County Museum, the “George Ciprian” Theatre and the County Center for Culture and Art invite you to participate in this year’s program. The events will take place starting at 10.30 at the headquarters of the Museum Center “I.C. Brătianu” according to the following program:
– 10:15 – Deschiderea oficială
– 10:30 – Piesa de teatru istoric „Mari români”
– 11:00 – Hora Unirii
– 11:10 – Concert Ansamblul etnofolcloric Plaiurile Mioriței.
On January 24, the visit of all the exhibition spaces of the County Museum is free of charge.
