Buzau County Museum, instituție de cultură și cercetare ce funcționează sub autoritatea Consiliului Județean Buzău, cu sediul în mun. Buzău, Aleea Castanilor, nr. 1, anunță organizarea Trofeului Dumitru Dan. Povestea globe-trotter-ului Dumitru Dan continuă.

Muzeul Județean Buzău a acceptat provocarea Asociației Club Sportiv PENTELEU Buzău de a participa la organizarea în premieră a Trofeului Dumitru Dan – brevete de anduranță pentru cicliști amatori (200 km, 300 km, 400 km, 600 km). Cursa, prima de acest gen desfășurată pe teritoriul județului Buzău, este dedicată primului globe-trotter român, Dumitru Dan, personalitate căreia instituția noastră i-a dedicat un întreg spațiu expozițional. Călătoria acestuia în jurul lumii a suscitat interes încă de la jumătatea secolului XX.

In 2018 the story of Dumitru Dan and his travel companions was promoted for the first time in a cyclist tour to the “Danube Road” (1440 km). This year, the PENTELEU Buzău Sports Club Association together with the Buzău County Museum organizes the 4th edition of the trophy. With a record number of participants at the start, over 30, the first patent starts tomorrow, March 26, 2022, at 08.00, departing from the front of the museum's headquarters. The road route includes touristic and historical points of interest on the territory of Buzău County such as: the monument erected at the scene of the discovery of the Treasure from Pietroasele, Grunjul de la Manzăleşti and the Salt Mountains from Lopatari. The participants in this patent come from Buzău, Bucharest, Ilfov, Prahova, Harghita, Bacau and Galați.
